Trick-or-Treat Trail Mix

Fruit, fiber and heart-healthy fats make this yummy mix worth munching.

Combine 1 cup Cheerios (or other low-sugar cereal), 1/2 cup cashews (or nuts of kids’ choice), 1/4 cup raisins (or other dried fruit such as cranberries or apricots) and 1/4 cup M&M’s (or similar candy pieces). Have kids separate mixture into quarters and place in four zip-seal bags to make 4 servings. Bring this tasty trail mix along on your next active family outing. Per serving: 222 calories, 45 percent calories from fat, 11 grams total fat, 3 grams saturated fat, 2 milligrams cholesterol, 28 grams carbohydrates, 2 grams total fiber, 17 grams total sugars, 26 grams net carbs, 4 grams protein, 66 milligrams sodium.
